Mr Eardley holds a number of senior national leadership positions within orthopaedic trauma, reflecting his commitment to advancing clinical practice, education and research. He is Chair of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Specialty Board in Trauma and Orthopaedics, a member of the British Orthopaedic Association Trauma Committee and the Orthopaedic Trauma Registry Steering Committee.
He previously served as Clinical Lead of the National Hip Fracture Database for England and Wales, Vice Chair of the British Orthopaedic Association Trauma Committee, Research Chair of the Orthopaedic Trauma Society, Research Chair of AO UK & Ireland, and has contributed to the National Major Trauma Registry through its Steering and Audit Committees.
Mr Eardley is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and maintains active membership of a number of specialist professional organisations, including the Orthopaedic Trauma Society, the British Limb Reconstruction Society and the British Trauma Society.
Whilst Vice Chair of the British Orthopaedic Association Trauma Committee, Mr Eardley was responsible for the coordination, revision, writing and publication of the BOAST guidelines - the singular most authoratative guidance in Orthopaedic Trauma Care.
