Educational

Education is a central component of Mr Eardley's professional practice. He has extensive experience in undergraduate, postgraduate and professional education, holding a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Dundee. He is Chair of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Specialty Board in Trauma and Orthopaedics and an examiner for the JCIE FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) examinations, contributing to the development of future consultant orthopaedic surgeons.

Alongside his NHS and academic roles, Mr Eardley works closely with orthopaedic industry partners to develop educational programmes in trauma surgery, fracture fixation and implant technology. He provides teaching and coaching for clinical representatives, healthcare professionals and surgical teams, helping bridge the gap between engineering, implant design and contemporary orthopaedic practice. His educational work also encompasses research and development, implant evaluation and the design of training resources that support innovation and improve patient care.
